If you are transferring your website from another hosting company to SabotSites.com, you may want to consider transferring your domain name as well.  This will make it easy for you to pay for your website hosting account and your domain name renewal at one place and time.  We can do this because Sabot Sites is always willing to prorate your hosting account to synchronize with your domain name renewal.

Please follow these instructions to ensure that your domain name transfer will NOT fail!

BEFORE REQUESTING A DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER:

1. Login to your control panel at your current registrar.
2. Make sure that the registrant email address that you have given to  your current registrar is up-to-date.  Once you start the transfer, your current registrar is going to send an email to this address asking for permission to move the domain to SabotSites.com.  If the email listed there doesn’t work, you can’t respond and the transfer WILL fail.
3. Make sure the domain is not locked.  If it is locked, even if you agree to the transfer, the transfer WILL fail.
4. Make sure the privacy protection is turned off, if it is not, the transfer WILL fail.
5. Retrieve the EPP Authorization key from your current registrar.
6. Go to SabotSites.com to initiate transfer of your domain name at http://www.sabotsites.com/whmcs/cart.php?a=add&domain=register.
7. On STEP 3 of the checkout process, paste the EPP Authorization key in the EPP Code box.
   
   

PLEASE NOTE:

• Domain name transfers are a 5 to 7 day process so maker sure the domain name is not within 7 days of expiration.   If it is and the domain transfer is interrupted by the domain actually expiring, the transfer WILL fail.  In this case, just renew it with your current registrar and do the domain name transfer 60 days after you renew it.
• Confirm that the domain name is at least 60 days old.  If it is not, the transfer WILL fail.
• If your domain name has already expired with your current registrar, confirm that the domain is no more than 30 days past the expiration date in order to proceed with a domain name transfer.  If it is, just renew it with your current registrar and do the domain name transfer 60 days after you renew it.

Creating a new email account is quite easy.

To create a new email account:

1. Go to http://sabotsites.com
2. Click the Client Control Panel login link (http://sabotsites.com:2082/frontend/rvorange/index.html)
3. Login to your control panel using the username and login emailed to you when you purchased your account.
4. In your control panel, to to the section called Email Management Tools.
5. Click on Add / Remove E-mail account(s).
6. Type in the desired email name and password.
7. Select a quota.  Be sure to select a quota in accordance with your account size.  You don’t want your email account using up the space needed to make your website function properly.

In order to access your email account you will need the following account information.

Login: email address

Password: password used when creating the email account

If someone else has set this account up for you, you can change the password to anything you’d like once you have logged in for the first time. To do this, click on the Change Password icon at the bottom left side of the screen immediately after you have logged in to your email account.

When you sign in there is a choice of 3 email interfaces: Horde is the most versatile but is more complicated, Squirrel is the most simple to use, but is indeed simplistic, and Round Cube is the third choice and my personal favorite.

You can also set up your POP3 email account to be viewed in Gmail/Outlook/Outlook Express/Windows Mail/Hotmail. Depending on what email service you are using, you may need some of the following information:

• Use mail.yourdomain.com for the incoming and outgoing mail server information.
• You may need to go to the properties of that account and click the servers tab.  Click on settings and checkmark my server requires authentification.
• Some servers have issues with the default port.  If your account isn’t working, try going to the account settings and click the advanced tab and change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) setting to 26, it’s probably currently on 25.

1. Click on the Client Control Panel link at SabotSites.com
2. Login with your cPanel username and password that was given to you when you registered your account.
3. Scroll down to the section titled Files and click on Disk Usage Viewer
4. There you will see a pie graph giving you the details about your disk space usage.  It shows how much is being used as well as where it is being used. (Note that MySQL data may not always be shown in your disk usage)

As you develop your website, you will start using more and more of your web hosting disk space.  High quality images, videos, audio files as well as documents that you have uploaded into your web hosting account, can use up a considerable amount of your allocated web space.  As you upload items for your website, remember to delete the older versions that are no longer needed to avoid unnecessarily filling your account.

You should also consider that your hosted email accounts use up your hosting disk space as well.  If you are keeping your emails online, then emails alone can quickly fill up a Small Site account.  To avoid this, delete emails that are no longer needed, especially when they come with large attachments.  You can also use an offline email program like Outlook or a free online email service like Gmail, into which you can download your email.

However, at some point your web hosting space might start getting crowded.  If your account starts getting too full, you will receive an email from the system saying, your account is “running out of disk space“.  It will instruct you to “remove some files from this account, or ask the administrator to increase your disk quota.”

If this happens, you will need to do just that… remove unnecessary files.  But you can also take this opportunity to increase your disk space by upgrading your account.  A Small Site of only 100 MB of disk space can be quite limiting, so try upgrading to the Standard site of 500 MB, or Super Site at 1 Gig (1000 MB).  If your account needs even more than that, a special plan can always be arranged.  We can also do prorated billing mid-year…  just contact us at support@sabotsites.com to make an arrangement.

Keep in mind that the ideal capacity for your account should still allow some space for emails that will come in. Therefore, if your account is at about 75% capacity, all is well! If you’d like to check and see exactly what is your account’s disk usage, you can do so at anytime by logging into your account’s cPanel.

However, if you are having difficulty paying your Sabot Sites invoice, please follow these instructions…

1. Open the invoice that was emailed to you by support@sabotsites.com.
2. Click on the red PAY NOW button that is beneath the word UNPAID.
3. Login at the Sabot Sites Client Area Login screen that appears.  (If you have forgotten your login details notice that on the bottom left of the screen you can click on Request Password Reset.  You will need to reset the password within 2 hours by clicking on the link that will be send to your email address.)
4. Once you are logged in you will see an online copy of the invoice.  If needed, you can click on the drop down arrow at the top right to change the payment method.
5. For Mail in Payment and Ecobank Transfer (Africa), follow the instructions given on the screen below the drop down arrow to proceed with offline payment.
6. For PayPal or Credit Card payment, click on the orange PayPal Check Out button near the top right of the screen under the drop down arrow.
7. If you have a PayPal account, log in to PayPal with your PayPal username and password to complete payment.
8. Sabot Sites uses PayPal to process all credit card payments, so if you would like to pay by Credit Card without a PayPal account, you can use PayPal as a guest by clicking on the link near the bottom of the screen that says, Don’t have a PayPal account?
9. Fill out your credit card information (which is kept confidential and secured by PayPal) and click on the Review and Continue button to proceed.
10. Click the orange PAY NOW button to finalize the transaction.
11. Once the payment is completed, you will receive an email from PayPal with payment details.
12. NOTE:  On that final screen, PayPal will also offer for you to create a PayPal account by choosing a PayPal password.  It is not necessary to do so, but if you’ve always wanted to tryout a PayPal account, now is your chance.  But don’t worry, if you do not create a PayPal account, PayPal WILL NOT save your credit card details.

1. Open Windows Media Player (Click on the Windows logo button on the bottom left of your screen to look for the program).
2. From the top menu, choose TOOLS > OPTIONS.
3. Click on the RIP MUSIC tab.
4. Choose the location to which you will rip your music, the my music folder is a pretty standard place to put it.
5. Set the format to MP3.
6. If you are ripping several CDs, check mark RIP MUSIC AUTOMATICALLY to make things easier.  You can always change this back later.
7. Check mark to EJECT CD AFTER RIPPING.
8. Choose your quality level (I keep mine set pretty low to avoid taking up too much space on my computer, and my music still sounds just fine).
9. Be sure to click OK once you have adjusted your rip settings.
10. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Be sure that your computer is connected to the internet before continuing… If you don’t have an internet connection, Windows Media Player will NOT be able to access CDDB information (the online Compact Disc Database).
11. Pop a CD in your computer’s CD drive and off you go… you’ve basically set the rip settings to do everything for you!
12. Once the CD ejects, pop in another… and continue on!

This tutorial will explain how to upload files using CoreFTP.  Also, please see the attached screenshot for other CoreFTP parameters.

1. Install the FTP program on your computer (CoreFTP Lite can be downloaded for FREE from http://coreftp.com).
2. Set up your FTP login information
3. Site Name: your domain name
4. Host/IP/URL: sabotsites.com
5. Username and Password: your Sabot Sites cPanel login information
6. Click “Connect” to connect to your site
7. In the box on the right, open the folder called public_html (Never make changes to any others)
8. In the box on the left, open the folder on your computer that has the files you want to upload.
9. Select the files or folders to upload and click on the “arrow” that points toward the right to upload them to your site.
10. Replacing the file called index.htm with your own index.htm will replace the under construction page currently on your website.
